Pheenix staff strive to provide a safe and welcoming space for all individuals and communities.

We have a ZERO tolerance for any forms of harassment and/or discrimination. We NEVER discriminate on the basis of sex, gender identity or expression, race, class, age, religion, sexuality, nationality, ability, ethnicity, personal appearance, minority status, or any characteristic protected under New Zealand Legislation.

If you ever experience an instance of discrimination or harassment in our shop, please call 111 or report it to one of our staff either in person, via email, or by phone, and it will be dealt with accordingly.

When you visit our shop, you are entering a professional environment similar to that of a doctor's or dentist's office. We never want to turn anyone away for their behaviour, so we ask that you help us maintain a relaxed environment by being respectful of the space, and towards our staff, and other clients. A little bit of kindness goes a long way and being verbally or physically harmful will not be tolerated.

To help make your piercing experience the best one it can be, here’s a list of some ‘Dos’ and ‘Don’ts’ for your next visit to Pheenix Piercing:

  • DO NOT come to Pheenix Piercing if you’ve been drinking or if you’re under the influence of something. Come back sober and everyone will have a better time. You’ll make a better decision on your piercing, too.
  • DO NOT try to bargain with our staff. Just like you wouldn’t go to the grocery store or a restaurant and try to talk a cashier or waiter into lowering the price. We already offer the best price we can with quality and affordability in mind.
  • DO tell your piercer or our staff about:
    • Feeling ‘uncomfortable’ or ‘dizzy.’ Tell your piercer right away (don’t try to tough it out) so that they can deal with it. Your piercer is prepared for it and knows how to handle it.
    • Any concerns you might have about your piercing. Your piercer is here to work with you and make the experience as easy as possible.
    • Any medical issues you may have (e.g., pregnancy, diseases, medication, etc).
  • DO be understanding of your piercer’s comfort zone. You want the best piercing you can get, so let your piercer work in the way that he/she is comfortable. Don’t try to force your piercer to make social conversation if they don’t seem receptive to it. Listen to their requests during your service. Your piercer will appreciate the consideration and it’ll be reflected in the work.
  • DO silence your phone. It can be distracting when a phone goes off in the middle of a piercing. You don’t want someone piercing you to be distracted, do you?

GOOD MANNER AND ETIQUETTE CAN GO A LONG WAY TOWARDS MAKING YOUR ENTIRE PIERCING EXPERIENCE MUCH MORE REWARDING AND PLEASANT.
